Dental Implants in Coimbatore

A dental implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up — a titanium root placed in your jawbone, with a crown on top that looks, feels and chews like your own tooth. It is the only replacement that keeps your jawbone alive under the gap, your neighbouring teeth untouched, and your bite working on both sides. Whether you're missing one tooth, several, or a full arch, an implant-based solution almost certainly exists for you — including for patients who've been told elsewhere that they lack the bone for it. At Arasu Dental Care, implants are placed by a two-implantologist team, and long-term research backs the treatment: a systematic review of 18 studies puts ten-year implant survival at around 96%.

Replace A Missing Tooth

Everything about dental implants

Are implants right for you? — Arasu Dental Care, Coimbatore

Right For You?

Are dental implants right for you?

Implants suit most adults with one or more missing teeth — whether the tooth was lost last month or twenty years ago. What we confirm before recommending one:

  • Healthy gums. Active gum disease must be treated first — placing an implant into infected gums is how implants fail. Our periodontal team handles that gum treatment in-house before implant work begins.
  • Enough bone — or a plan to work with what you have. The implant needs bone to anchor in, which we measure on a scan, never by guesswork. Where bone has shrunk, grafting can rebuild it, and basal implants can anchor in denser bone layers that conventional implants do not use — a specific expertise of our team.
  • General health that supports healing. Well-controlled diabetes is usually no barrier; uncontrolled diabetes and smoking measurably lower success rates. We discuss this honestly rather than discover it later.

Age alone is almost never the issue — we place implants for patients in their 70s and beyond. If an implant is genuinely not your right option, we say so and show you the alternatives on our restorative dentistry page, where implants, bridges and dentures are compared side by side.

Find out what is actually possible for your gap — book an implant consultation with a scan at R.S. Puram or Saibaba Colony.

Your Options

Which implant solution fits your situation?

You don't need one implant per missing tooth. The right solution depends on how much is missing and the state of your bone — here's how the routes map to real situations.

Your situationThe solutionWhat it involves
One missing toothSingle implant + crownOne titanium root, one crown; neighbours untouched
Several missing teeth in a rowImplant-supported bridgeTwo implants carry 3–4 teeth — no implant needed per tooth
A full arch (upper or lower)All-on-Four rehabilitationFour strategically angled implants support a full fixed arch
Told you lack bone for implantsBasal implants / bone graftingAnchoring in denser basal bone, or rebuilding lost bone first
Loose, hopeless remaining teethFull-mouth rehabilitationStaged extraction + implant plan, fixed teeth at the end
Complex cases at Arasu are planned digitally — guided implant surgery from your scan, so the implant position is decided in software to a fraction of a millimetre before anything touches your mouth. Dr. Ashwin Kumar additionally works with Osseodensification (Densah burs), which compacts and preserves bone as the implant site is prepared rather than drilling it away — particularly useful where bone is limited.

The Process

How implant treatment works at Arasu

Four stages from first scan to a tooth you can chew with — most of the timeline is the bone quietly doing its work.

1

Scan and plan

A 3D scan measures your bone height, width and density, and maps the nerves and sinuses. From it we plan the implant position, confirm whether grafting is needed, and give you a written staged quote.

2

Placement

The implant is placed under local anaesthesia — most single implants take under an hour, and patients are routinely surprised how uneventful it feels. Sedation options are available for anxious patients or longer full-arch procedures.

3

Healing (osseointegration) — 3 to 6 months

The bone fuses to the titanium. This wait is what gives implants their strength; a temporary tooth keeps the gap covered where appearance matters. In suitable full-arch cases, a fixed provisional set can be attached much sooner.

4

The final crown

Once fused, your final crown, bridge or arch is fitted and your bite fine-tuned. Then it's yours: brush it, floss it, chew with it.

If a failing tooth must come out first, the extraction is handled in the same clinic, and in suitable sites the implant can be placed at the same visit — one decision we make from the scan, not the chair.

Honest Considerations

What to weigh before you commit

It's a months-long process, not an appointment

From placement to final crown typically runs 3–6 months, longer if grafting comes first. Anyone promising every case a fixed tooth in days is selecting their cases carefully.

Implants can get gum disease too

Peri-implantitis — gum infection around an implant — is the main long-term threat, and daily hygiene plus regular check-ups are what prevent it. An implant is not an excuse to stop flossing; it's a reason to keep going.

Smoking works against you

It slows bone healing and is one of the strongest predictors of implant failure. We will still treat you — but we will also tell you plainly what it costs your odds.

The crown wears like any tooth

The titanium root can serve for decades; the crown on top may need replacing after 10–15 years of chewing. Results vary with your bite, your hygiene and your health.

Cost

Dental implant cost in Coimbatore

Implant pricing depends on how many teeth you're replacing, the implant system used, whether grafting or a sinus lift is needed first, and the type of final prosthesis. Our typical figures:

TreatmentTypical range at ArasuNotes
Single tooth implantFrom ₹35,000Implant + crown; Coimbatore market runs ₹18,000–₹60,000
Full-mouth (implant-supported)Up to ₹3,00,000Coimbatore average ₹1.3L–₹2.9L
All-on-4 (per arch)₹1.3L – ₹2.4LFour implants + fixed arch
All-on-6 (per arch)₹1.8L – ₹3.0LSix implants + fixed arch
Bone grafting / sinus liftQuoted case by caseCase-dependent add-on; confirmed after your scan
A word on very cheap implant quotes: the headline number often excludes the crown, the scan, or the abutment — the connector between implant and crown — which appear later as "extras." Our written quote is staged and complete: you see the full figure, and what each stage includes, before anything begins. EMI options are available so a full-arch case can be paid across its own timeline.

Fees are confirmed at consultation and vary by individual case. Ranges shown are typical and subject to change. *Ten-year implant survival ~96% is drawn from a systematic review and meta-analysis of 18 prospective studies; individual results vary with bone health, general health and hygiene.

Single implant done here — they showed me the scan, explained the plan and the full cost before starting. No surprise "extras" later.

RRavendran R

Full-arch All-on-4 for my upper jaw. Dr. Ashwin and the team were thorough and reassuring through every stage.

PPriya M.

Was told elsewhere I didn't have enough bone. Here a scan showed basal implants were possible — genuinely grateful.

The placement itself was easier than the extraction. Clear staged quote and EMI made it manageable.

FAQs

Dental implants — your questions answered

At Arasu, a single implant starts from ₹35,000 including the crown; full-arch solutions like All-on-4 run ₹1.3–2.4 lakh per arch. Your exact figure is confirmed after a scan and quoted in writing, staged, with EMI available.

Placement is done under local anaesthesia, so you feel pressure, not pain — most patients find it easier than the extraction that preceded it. Expect some tenderness and swelling for a few days afterwards, managed with ordinary pain relief. Sedation options are available for anxious patients.

Research across 18 long-term studies puts ten-year implant survival at around 96%, and many implants serve for decades. The crown on top may need replacement after 10–15 years of wear. Your hygiene, bite and general health all influence the result, which varies from person to person.

Typically 3–6 months from placement to final crown, because the bone must fuse to the implant. Grafting, if needed, adds time. In suitable full-arch cases a fixed provisional set can be attached much sooner — we confirm from your scan whether that applies to you.

Usually yes, if it's well controlled — we plan around it and monitor healing closely. Uncontrolled diabetes lowers success rates, so we may ask for it to be brought under control first. Bring your recent readings to the consultation.

Very often, yes. Bone grafting can rebuild lost bone, sinus lifts create room in the upper jaw, and basal implants anchor in denser bone that standard implants don't use — a specific expertise here. A scan tells us which route is realistic for you.

Yes — All-on-Four supports a full fixed arch on four implants, All-on-6 on six. These are planned digitally and delivered by our prosthodontist-implantologist team. You do not need one implant per missing tooth.

An implant preserves the jawbone and leaves neighbouring teeth untouched; a bridge is faster and costs less upfront but requires trimming two healthy teeth and doesn't stop bone loss under the gap. For most single gaps with good bone, the implant is the stronger long-term answer — but we assess your case honestly, including when the bridge is the smarter choice.
