Smile Designing in Coimbatore

Smile designing — what many patients call a smile makeover — gives you a balanced, natural-looking smile that is planned as one result, not a series of separate procedures that happen to land in the same mouth. Using Digital Smile Design, we map your teeth, gums and face, then show you a preview of the proposed smile before any treatment begins — so you commit to a result you have already seen.

A Planned Result, Not A Patchwork

One smile, designed as a whole

Smile designing is the right choice when more than one thing bothers you at once — shade, shape, small gaps, worn edges or mild crowding — and you want them corrected together so the final smile suits your face. Your design is planned by two specialists working as one: Dr. L.S. Priyanka, our cosmetic dentist with extensive smile-design experience, and our founder Dr. P.S. Sree Cumar, MDS orthodontist — so tooth position is planned as part of the smile, not worked around afterwards. And if only one thing is troubling you, a single treatment is often all you need — we will tell you so.

Where To Start

Is smile designing right for you?

Smile designing suits people who want a coordinated change rather than a single fix. It earns its place when several concerns overlap — and we will say plainly when it does not.

You are likely a good candidate if…

  • Your teeth are discoloured or stained, and reshaping or alignment is also on your mind
  • You have small gaps, chips, worn edges or slightly uneven teeth you would like corrected together
  • Your teeth look short, or your gum line looks uneven when you smile
  • You have an event ahead — a wedding, a milestone — and want a planned, predictable outcome

When smile designing is not the answer

  • If your only concern is colour, professional teeth whitening on its own may be all you need
  • If it is purely alignment, clear aligners or braces will move your teeth without touching healthy enamel
  • Smile designing earns its place when several concerns overlap and the value is in planning them as one

See It First

See your new smile before we start

The part patients value most is that you are not asked to imagine the result — you see it first. Digital Smile Design (DSD) is how we plan and preview your smile before a single tooth is touched.

1

We record the starting point

High-resolution photographs, digital scans of your teeth, and your bite — along with how your lips and face frame your smile.

2

We design the proposed smile digitally

Working out tooth size, shape, proportion and shade so the result fits your face rather than a template.

3

You review and approve the plan

You see the intended shape and shade against your own features, ask for changes, and only then do we move ahead.

This is what turns smile designing from a guess into a plan. It also makes the rest of the treatment more predictable, because every step afterward works toward a result you have already agreed to.

Your Specialists

Two specialists design it together

Most clinics have one of these. Your design is stronger with both — a cosmetic dentist plans the aesthetics while an orthodontist plans the tooth positions underneath, so the smile is coordinated from the foundation up.

Dr. L.S. Priyanka

General Dentist
8 years of experience

Handles the aesthetics of your smile. Her MDS is in conservative dentistry — the science of preserving tooth structure — which is exactly what a designed smile should be: maximum improvement, minimum tooth removed.

The Plan

How we combine treatments into one smile

A designed smile is usually built from more than one treatment, sequenced in the right order. Our job is the plan — choosing which of these you actually need, and combining only those.

Foundation first — this step is not optional

Before any cosmetic work, we treat what needs treating — active decay, gum inflammation, or old restorations due for replacement. A designed smile built on an unhealthy foundation does not last.

Whitening - Arasu Dental Care, Coimbatore

Whitening

To correct shade, often the first step. Covered in depth on our teeth whitening page.

Composite bonding - Arasu Dental Care, Coimbatore

Composite bonding

A conservative way to rebuild small chips, close minor gaps and reshape edges with very little enamel removed.

Veneers & crowns - Arasu Dental Care, Coimbatore

Veneers & crowns

Tooth-coloured veneers (laminates) and crowns to change shape, size and shade where bonding is not enough.

Gum reshaping - Arasu Dental Care, Coimbatore

Gum reshaping

Gum contouring to even out a gummy or uneven gum line so the teeth look balanced in their frame.

Alignment - Arasu Dental Care, Coimbatore

Alignment

Aligners or orthodontic treatment to correct position before cosmetic work — usually a more stable, more conservative result.

Implants - Arasu Dental Care, Coimbatore

Implants where needed

Where teeth are missing and the smile needs rebuilding more extensively, the plan may include dental implants.

At your consultation we tell you honestly which of these you need and which you can skip — a good plan leaves treatments out as deliberately as it puts them in.

How Long

How long does smile designing take?

It depends entirely on what your plan includes, so we give you a time-bound schedule once the design is approved. As a general guide:

1–2 weeks

Whitening-led change

The quickest route — often one to two weeks, sometimes a single in-office session plus review.

3–4 weeks

Veneer-led design

Typically runs from preparation through laboratory work to final fit, with temporaries in between.

Phased

Complex cases

Where alignment or gum work is involved, care is phased over more visits — each stage needs to settle before the next.

On comfort: the planning stage is non-invasive, and treatment steps are carried out under local anaesthesia where needed. We would never describe dental treatment as free of all sensation — but managing your comfort at each visit is part of how we work, and we talk you through what each appointment will feel like beforehand. Individual timelines and results vary with the treatments in your plan and the condition of your teeth and gums.

Straight Answers

How long do results last — and what are the trade-offs?

An honest answer matters more here than a reassuring one, because the materials in a designed smile age differently and some steps cannot be undone.

On longevity

Composite bonding generally lasts around three to seven years before it needs refreshing, while porcelain veneers commonly last ten to fifteen years or more with good care.

The material is only part of the story — your bite, grinding habits, diet and maintenance visits matter just as much.

On reversibility

Whitening and bonding are conservative and largely reversible or easily refreshed. Veneers and crowns involve removing a small amount of natural tooth structure, which does not grow back — so that part of the plan is a considered, lasting decision, not a quick fix.

We always favour the most conservative option that still achieves your goal, and we tell you plainly when a step is irreversible before you commit to it.

Cost

What does smile designing cost in Coimbatore?

Because a designed smile is built from different treatments, the cost reflects what your plan actually includes. The main drivers: the number of teeth in the design, composite versus porcelain (composite is more affordable upfront; porcelain costs more and typically lasts longer), and whether alignment or gum work adds stages. Our typical ranges:

Type of smile makeoverTypical range at ArasuNotes
Whitening-led change₹10,000 – ₹15,000Fastest, most conservative route
Veneer-based makeover₹30,000 – ₹2,00,000Scales with number of teeth + material
Aligners + veneers₹80,000 – ₹3,50,000Position corrected first, then aesthetics
Full cosmetic rehabilitation₹1,00,000 – ₹6,00,000Extensive rebuilds; staged plan
One thing worth knowing: a very low quote often means a stage has been left out — usually the digital design or the temporary try-in — which are precisely the steps that make the result predictable. Our estimate is itemised and written, so you see what is and is not included, with EMI options available. The full breakdown of what moves each figure lives on our smile design cost page.

Not sure what your smile would need? A consultation gives you a digital preview and an itemised written quote — no guesswork.

Why plan your smile at Arasu Dental Care

You see the result before you commit

Our Digital Smile Design workflow means you approve the intended shape and shade against your own face before treatment starts — the single biggest protection against disappointment in cosmetic dentistry.

Two specialists design it together

A cosmetic dentist with published research and award-winning smile-design work handles the aesthetics; an orthodontist plans the tooth positions underneath. Most clinics have one of these; the design is stronger with both.

Every treatment in the plan, under one roof

Whitening, bonding, veneers, gum contouring, alignment, implants — sequenced by one team in one clinic, at either branch, all seven days, 10 AM – 8:30 PM.

A plan that leaves things out

We recommend the most conservative combination that achieves your goal — and when a single treatment would do it, we say so and design nothing.

FAQs

Smile designing — your questions answered

At Arasu, a whitening-led change runs ₹10,000–₹15,000, veneer-based makeovers ₹30,000–₹2,00,000 depending on the teeth involved, and combined aligner-plus-veneer plans ₹80,000–₹3,50,000. After your assessment you get an itemised written estimate so you know exactly what is included before deciding — see our smile design cost page.

The planning and digital design stage is non-invasive. The treatments themselves are carried out under local anaesthesia where needed, and we talk you through what each visit will feel like in advance.

It depends on the materials and your care. Composite work generally lasts three to seven years; porcelain veneers often ten to fifteen years or more. Your bite, grinding habits, diet and maintenance visits all affect it, and individual results vary.

A whitening-led change can be as quick as one to two weeks; a veneer-led design usually takes three to four weeks; complex cases with alignment or gum work are phased over more visits. You get a clear schedule once your design is approved.

Not always. Whitening and bonding remove little to no enamel. Veneers and crowns do involve removing a small amount of tooth structure, which does not grow back — so we use them only where needed and tell you clearly before any irreversible step.

Yes. Veneers or whitening are single treatments. Smile designing — a smile makeover — is the planned combination of whichever treatments your smile actually needs, designed together so the final result is balanced. If one treatment alone would solve your concern, we recommend just that.

Yes — that is the point of Digital Smile Design. We design your proposed smile digitally and show it to you, so you can review the shape and shade against your own face, request changes, and approve the plan before any treatment begins.

Earlier than most people think. A whitening-led plan fits inside a month, but veneer work needs three to four weeks, and anything involving alignment needs months. Come in as soon as the date is set and we will build the schedule backwards from it.
