A written, itemised quote after an exam and X-ray — not a “starting from” number that climbs later

Wisdom Tooth Removal Cost in Coimbatore

At Arasu Dental Care, wisdom tooth removal costs between ₹1,500 and ₹8,000 per tooth. Where you land in that range depends mainly on how the tooth is positioned — a fully erupted tooth that lifts out simply sits at the lower end, while a partly or fully impacted tooth needs a surgical removal and costs more. This page breaks the cost down honestly, so you know what to expect before you sit in the chair.

We remove wisdom teeth at both our Coimbatore branches, in R.S. Puram and Saibaba Colony, and we quote you the full figure after a short examination and X-ray — not a vague “starting from” number that climbs once you’ve committed.

The Numbers

Wisdom tooth removal cost in Coimbatore at a glance

How the tooth is positioned is the single biggest thing that moves the price. Here’s what each type of removal costs per tooth at Arasu Dental Care.

Type of removalCost per toothUsually for
Simple extraction (erupted tooth)₹1,500 – ₹3,500A wisdom tooth that has come through the gum normally
Surgical removal (partially impacted)₹4,000 – ₹6,000A half-erupted tooth trapped under a flap of gum
Surgical removal (fully impacted)₹4,000 – ₹8,000A tooth fully buried in gum and bone, near the nerve
Imaging & consultationIndicative cost
Consultation₹300 – ₹500
Dental X-ray (IOPA)₹200 – ₹300
OPG (full-jaw X-ray)₹400 – ₹600
CBCT scan (3D, complex cases only)₹1,000 – ₹4,000
These are indicative ranges per tooth; your final figure is confirmed at your consultation and is subject to individual assessment. If the tooth can be saved rather than removed — for instance with a root canal — we’ll tell you that first. For a fuller breakdown by tooth and case type, see our tooth extraction cost guide.

Reading The Price

What decides your wisdom tooth removal price

Two people can pay very different amounts to have a wisdom tooth out, and it’s rarely arbitrary. Here’s what actually shifts the number:

  • How the tooth is positioned. A fully erupted tooth comes out with a simple extraction at the lower end of the range; a partly or fully impacted tooth needs a surgical removal — more time, imaging and skill — which sits higher.

  • The imaging your case needs. A routine IOPA X-ray is around ₹200–₹300 and an OPG ₹400–₹600. For lower wisdom teeth close to the nerve, a CBCT 3D scan (₹1,000–₹4,000) is sometimes needed to plan the safest route.

  • Number of teeth. Several teeth in one treatment plan may be quoted differently from a single tooth. If more than one is impacted, doing them together can save you a second recovery.

  • Whether the tooth can be saved instead. Not every wisdom tooth has to come out. If a tooth is healthy and can be kept — or restored with a root canal — that changes the plan and the cost entirely.

  • Any follow-up care. Most removals are one visit, but a surgical case may need a brief review or a suture-removal visit as the site settles — included in the plan we quote up front.

We walk you through each of these at your visit, so the quote is never a surprise.

No Surprises

What’s included in the price — and what to check

It’s a fair question to ask any clinic what an extraction quote does and doesn’t include. We’d rather you ask us than assume — so here’s exactly where the line sits at Arasu.

Covered by your removal quote

  • Local anaesthesia so the area is fully numb throughout.
  • The extraction itself — simple or surgical, as your case needs.
  • Any stitching to close the site — usually dissolving stitches.
  • Your follow-up and aftercare instructions to keep healing on track.

Quoted separately, in writing

  • Any imaging your case needs (X-ray, OPG or CBCT), priced up front rather than added later.
  • Prescribed medicines — painkillers or antibiotics where they’re needed.
  • Treating the tooth instead of removing it, such as a root canal, if it can be saved.
  • Replacing the tooth later, if the gap needs it — though many wisdom teeth don’t.
Anything your case needs beyond the removal itself, we tell you about up front, in writing — rather than adding it once you’ve started.

Honest Considerations

Simple vs surgical — why the price differs

The gap between the low and high end of the range comes down to one thing: whether the tooth has erupted into the mouth, or is still trapped in gum and bone.

A simple extraction is for a wisdom tooth that has come through normally. We numb the area, ease the tooth loose and lift it out — usually in a single short appointment, which is why it sits at the lower end of the cost. A surgical extraction is for an impacted tooth: we make a small opening in the gum, remove a little bone if needed, and often divide the tooth into pieces so it comes out cleanly. That’s more chair time, more imaging and more skill — so it costs more, but it’s still routine oral surgery done under local anaesthesia.

A lower quote isn’t automatically a saving. For lower wisdom teeth especially, imaging the tooth first — to see how close the roots sit to the nerve in the jaw — is the single most important safeguard. A quote that skips the X-ray isn’t cheaper in any way that matters. You can read the full procedure detail on our wisdom tooth removal page, or see how it fits alongside our wider oral surgery care.

Our honest take: we quote the case in front of us, not the priciest option. If the tooth is healthy and can stay, we’ll tell you — and if it needs a surgical removal, we’ll explain why before you commit to anything.

  • Every removal is planned from an X-ray — and an OPG or CBCT for tricky lower teeth — before we begin
  • Research suggests around 95% of uncomplicated wisdom tooth extractions are straightforward, handled as day procedures under local anaesthesia
  • Dry socket affects roughly 1 in 20 routine extractions — more often with surgical removal of lower wisdom teeth, which is why the no-straw, no-smoking aftercare matters
  • Earlier is often simpler — in younger patients the roots aren’t fully formed and recovery tends to be quicker

Results vary. The figures above are general clinical findings, not a promise for any individual case. How your own removal and recovery go depends on the tooth, your general health and how closely you follow aftercare. We’ll set realistic expectations for your specific tooth before you commit.

FAQs

Wisdom tooth removal cost — your questions answered

At Arasu Dental Care, wisdom tooth removal costs between ₹1,500 and ₹8,000 per tooth, depending mostly on how the tooth is positioned. A simple extraction of a fully erupted tooth sits at the lower end; a surgical removal of a partially or fully impacted tooth costs more. Your exact figure is confirmed in writing after an examination and X-ray.

An impacted tooth is stuck partly or fully under the gum and bone, so it takes a surgical removal — a small opening in the gum, sometimes removing a little bone, and often dividing the tooth into pieces. That is more time, more imaging and more skill than lifting out an erupted tooth, which is why it costs more.

A typical removal quote covers the local anaesthesia, the extraction itself, any stitching and your follow-up. Imaging (an X-ray, OPG or CBCT scan) is priced up front and shown separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for. We explain what is and isn’t included before we begin.

The right removal depends on the tooth, not the lowest quote. For lower wisdom teeth especially, imaging the tooth first to see where the nerve sits is the key safeguard — so a quote that skips the X-ray isn’t a saving. We plan every removal from imaging and quote the case honestly.

Yes. For higher-value work — a surgical removal, or several teeth in one plan — we offer EMI, including no-cost EMI options, so you can spread the cost. We also accept UPI, cards, cash and net banking, and help with insurance claims where your policy covers the procedure.

No — we only recommend removing teeth that genuinely need to come out. Several teeth in one plan may be quoted differently from a single tooth, and if several are impacted, doing them together can save you a second recovery. We’ll talk you through what makes sense and what it costs for your case.
