Correctable at almost any age — planned by an MDS orthodontist
At Arasu Dental Care, we correct crooked and misaligned teeth at almost any age — with braces or clear aligners, chosen for your specific case by an MDS orthodontist. Whether it's one rotated front tooth that bothers you in photos or a full arch that's drifted out of line, treatment gives you teeth that are easier to clean, a bite that wears evenly, and a smile you don't feel the need to hide.

Wondering whether your teeth even need treatment? Book a consultation at R.S. Puram (+91 88380 22157) or Saibaba Colony (+91 74491 88777) and we'll tell you plainly whether your case needs treatment at all — and if it does, which option fits it.
An honest starting point
Honestly — not always. A mildly rotated tooth that you can clean properly and that doesn't affect your bite can often be left alone, and if that's your situation we'll say so at your consultation rather than recommend treatment you don't need.
If you've been searching for crooked teeth treatment in Coimbatore, you're in good company: an Indian meta-analysis pooling 54 studies and nearly 98,000 children found some degree of malocclusion in roughly one in three — and most of it is never treated in childhood, which is why so many of our alignment patients are adults. It is not too late, and in most cases it is far simpler than people expect.
Causes
Most misalignment is inherited — jaw size and tooth size are genetic, and when they don't match, teeth twist or tilt to fit the space available. On top of that, childhood habits (prolonged thumb-sucking, tongue thrusting, mouth breathing), losing baby teeth too early, and gum disease or missing teeth in adulthood can all push teeth out of position. Teeth also drift naturally with age, which is why alignment that was acceptable at 25 can bother you at 40.
The cause matters to us because it shapes the plan: a child with a habit-driven problem may need a habit-breaking appliance and growth guidance — an area of specific expertise for our founder, Dr. P.S. Sree Cumar, MDS (Orthodontics) — while an adult whose teeth drifted after a lost molar may need the gap addressed alongside alignment so the result holds.

Why timing helps
Nothing dramatic happens overnight — but misalignment tends to compound. Plaque accumulates where cleaning can't reach, so decay and gum inflammation show up earlier around crooked teeth. Uneven bite forces wear enamel unevenly and can loosen gum support on overloaded teeth. And because teeth drift throughout life, misalignment usually gets slowly worse, not better — a tooth that's slightly rotated today has more room to rotate tomorrow. Correcting earlier generally means simpler, shorter, less expensive treatment.
Two proven routes
Crooked teeth are corrected with orthodontic treatment — moving the teeth themselves into the right position. Your case is assessed and planned by an MDS orthodontist, and the choice comes down to two proven routes:

All severities, from a single rotated tooth to complex cases
Fixed braces remain the most versatile correction we offer — they handle everything from a single rotated tooth to complex, multi-directional misalignment. You'll choose between metal (strongest and most economical), ceramic (tooth-coloured and far less visible), self-ligating (fewer adjustment visits) and lingual braces (fixed behind the teeth, invisible from the front). For children and teens, our braces for children service times treatment to jaw growth, which can shorten and simplify correction.

Nearly invisible, removable, digitally planned
Clear aligners, including Invisalign, straighten teeth with a series of removable transparent trays — nearly invisible, removable for meals and brushing, and planned digitally so you preview the end result before you start. They're excellent for mild to moderate crookedness in adults and older teens. For severe rotations or significant bite correction, braces still deliver the more predictable result — and we'll tell you which side of that line your case falls on, not leave you to guess.
| Braces | Clear aligners | |
|---|---|---|
| Suits | All severities, including complex rotations | Mild to moderate misalignment |
| Visibility | Visible (ceramic/lingual are discreet) | Nearly invisible |
| Removable | No — fixed, works 24/7 | Yes — needs 20–22 hrs/day of wear |
| Typical duration | 12–24 months | 6–18 months for suitable cases |
| Discipline needed | Low — always on | High — results depend on wear time |

Real Arasu cases

The process
Your first visit is an assessment: clinical examination, digital X-rays and a discussion of what's realistic for your case. You'll leave with a clear plan — the recommended option, the expected duration, and the full cost — before anything begins. Most crooked-teeth corrections run 6 to 24 months depending on severity and the option chosen, with review visits every 4 to 8 weeks. Mild adult cases treated with aligners are often finished within a year. Individual results and timelines vary with case complexity and, for aligners, with how consistently they're worn.
Transparent pricing
What you pay depends on the treatment route, the material or aligner system, and the complexity of your case — mild single-arch corrections sit at the lower end of each range, complex full-arch cases at the upper end. Typical costs at Arasu Dental Care:
| Treatment option | Typical cost range |
|---|---|
| Consultation | ₹300 – ₹500 |
| Metal braces | ₹30,000 – ₹50,000 |
| Ceramic braces | ₹35,000 – ₹70,000 |
| Self-ligating braces | ₹50,000 – ₹80,000 |
| Lingual braces | ₹70,000 – ₹1,00,000 |
| Clear aligners — mild case | ₹50,000 – ₹70,000 |
| Clear aligners — moderate to complex | ₹1,50,000 – ₹3,00,000 |
| Invisalign | From ₹80,000 |

Alignment correction here is planned and supervised by an MDS orthodontist — not delegated to a general dentist working from a kit. And because we're a multispecialty clinic, the cases that need more than alignment — a gum problem to stabilise first, a missing tooth to replace — are handled by the relevant specialist under the same roof, at either branch.
Our founder, Dr. P.S. Sree Cumar, MDS (Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics), is a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists (USA) and was named Dentist of the Year – South Region at the 2023 Economic Times Healthcare Awards.
A mildly rotated tooth you can clean well can often be left alone, and we'll say so. When treatment is worthwhile, we recommend by case, not by price.
Gum problems stabilised first, missing teeth replaced alongside alignment — by the relevant in-house specialist at either branch. Meet them on our doctors page.
Both clinics are open Monday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM — so review visits fit around work and school rather than the other way round.

FAQs
Yes. Teeth move the same way at 45 as at 15 — adult treatment simply requires healthy gums and bone as a starting point, which we confirm at assessment. A large share of our alignment patients are working adults treated with ceramic braces or clear aligners.
Not always. Mild misalignment that you can clean well and that isn't affecting your bite can be left alone. Treatment becomes worthwhile when the crookedness traps plaque, wears your bite unevenly, or affects your confidence — we'll give you an honest read at your consultation.
It depends on severity. Clear aligners handle mild to moderate crookedness discreetly; braces remain the more predictable choice for severe rotations and bite correction. After assessing your case, our orthodontist will tell you which option can actually finish the job — including when the less expensive one is the right answer.
Typically 6 to 24 months. Mild adult cases treated with aligners often finish within a year; complex corrections with braces run longer. You'll get a case-specific estimate, not a generic one, before treatment starts. Timelines vary between individuals.
At Arasu Dental Care, braces range from about ₹30,000 (metal) to ₹1,00,000 (lingual), and clear aligners from about ₹50,000 for mild cases to ₹3,00,000 for complex ones, with Invisalign from ₹80,000. Your exact fee depends on your case and is confirmed in writing at consultation. EMI options are available.
They will if you wear your retainers. Teeth naturally try to drift back toward their old positions, so retention — full-time at first, then nightly — is a built-in part of every treatment plan we make, not an afterthought.
You'll feel pressure and mild soreness for a few days after braces are adjusted or a new aligner tray goes in — most patients manage it with ordinary pain relief, and it settles quickly. The procedures themselves are comfortable, and no injections or drilling are involved in routine alignment.
