Transparent, upfront estimates
What you pay for a dental cleaning depends mostly on how much tartar has built up, the health of your gums and whether you need a routine clean or a deep clean. At Arasu, a routine scaling & polishing starts from ₹800, a full-mouth clean runs ₹1,500–₹2,500, and a full-mouth deep cleaning goes up to about ₹8,000 — and you get a clear, written estimate after we examine your gums.

If the gum assessment shows established gum disease, a deep cleaning (scaling & root planing) — or, in advanced cases, laser gum therapy — may be advised, and that is quoted separately. You get a written, itemised estimate so you know exactly what is included before anything starts.
Not sure whether you need a routine clean or a deep clean? We'll check your gums and give you a written, itemised estimate — no obligation.
Cost-affecting factors
Two cleanings rarely cost the same — here's what moves the figure for yours.
Light tartar from regular cleanings takes little chair time; heavy, hardened calculus that has been building for years takes longer to remove and costs more.
A scaling & polishing above the gum line is a single-visit clean; a deep clean (scaling & root planing) below the gum line is more involved and priced higher.
Healthy gums need only a routine polish; inflamed or receding gums with pockets need a deeper, staged clean — and sometimes gum treatment.
Tea, coffee, paan or tobacco stain lifts with extra polishing; stubborn staining can add a polishing charge, and deep discolouration may point to whitening instead.
A routine clean is one visit; a full-mouth deep clean is often done quadrant by quadrant across two or more visits, which is reflected in the total.
Fluoride application, a desensitising polish or a follow-up review may be added when they help — each is small, optional and shown separately on your estimate.
Before treatment
| Diagnostic test | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Initial consultation | ₹200 – ₹500 |
| Gum (periodontal) pocket assessment | Included in consultation |
| Digital X-ray (IOPA) | ₹200 – ₹600 |
| OPG / full-mouth X-ray | ₹300 – ₹1,000 |
Before cleaning, a quick gum check — and an X-ray where bone loss is suspected — shows how deep the tartar sits and how healthy your gums are, so we choose the right clean and give you an accurate estimate up front.

FAQs
At Arasu, a routine scaling and polishing starts from about ₹800, a full-mouth scaling and polishing runs ₹1,500–₹2,500, and a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) is ₹1,500–₹3,000 per quadrant or ₹4,000–₹8,000 for the full mouth. You get a written estimate after your gums are examined, with EMI available.
A routine scaling and polishing removes plaque, tartar and surface stain from above the gum line in a single visit. Deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) goes below the gum line to clear tartar from the roots when gum disease is present, is often done quadrant by quadrant over more than one visit, and therefore costs more. We recommend a deep cleaning only when the gum assessment shows it is needed.
A professional cleaning every six months suits most people; those with gum disease, diabetes or heavy staining may need it more often. Cleaning is sometimes partly covered by health or dental insurance — we can give you an itemised estimate to submit to your provider, and EMI is available for larger deep-cleaning plans.
A routine cleaning is usually comfortable; you may feel mild sensitivity or slight gum tenderness for a day or two, especially with a deep cleaning, which settles quickly. Ultrasonic scaling removes tartar without damaging healthy enamel — the sensitivity comes from gums that were inflamed by the tartar, not from the cleaning itself.
Heavy tartar, tea/coffee/tobacco staining or gum disease means more chair time and, for deep cleaning, more visits — so the fee is higher than a routine six-monthly clean. If the gum assessment shows periodontitis, a full-mouth deep cleaning or a referral for gum treatment may be advised; we explain this and quote it separately before starting.
