Pediatric Dentist in Coimbatore Meet the children's dentistry team at Arasu Dental Care

When your child needs dental care in Coimbatore, the person treating them matters as much as the treatment. At Arasu Dental Care, your child is seen by the clinician most suited to what they need — our children's-dentistry lead for everyday checkups, cleanings and fillings, and, when a case calls for it, the endodontist, oral surgeon or orthodontist on our team. A nervous six-year-old with a first cavity and a teenager who needs early braces are both in the right hands, in one clinic, on any day of the week.

Tooth decay is still the most common childhood dental problem in India — a meta-analysis of Indian studies puts caries at around 52% in children aged 3 to 18 — and catching it early is far gentler on your child than treating it late. This page is for parents choosing a children's dentist: who you'll actually meet, what each of our clinicians handles for children, and how we keep young patients calm.

Open daily, 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM at both Coimbatore branches — walk in, or book ahead and we will hold a slot with the right clinician for your child.

The Team

Who treats your child at Arasu Dental Care

Children's dentistry at Arasu is led by (BDS, Fellowship in Aesthetic Dentistry), who handles the day-to-day of a child's dental care — first visits, checkups, cleanings, fluoride, sealants and tooth-coloured fillings — with the gentle, unhurried approach young patients need. Where a child's case needs a postgraduate specialist, we don't send you across town: the right member of our team steps in, in the same clinic.

This is the difference a multispecialty clinic makes for a child. A baby-tooth root canal goes to our endodontist; a difficult milk-tooth extraction goes to our oral surgeon; early braces and jaw-growth guidance go to our orthodontist. Your child sees the person who does that procedure routinely — not whoever is free.

Every clinician above is a registered dentist with the qualification shown, and children's work that calls for a postgraduate specialist goes to the specialist who performs it. If your child would be better served by a dedicated pedodontist for a particular case, we'll tell you honestly rather than stretch beyond our scope.

Baby-tooth root canals

When decay in a baby tooth reaches the nerve, saving the tooth (rather than removing it) keeps space for the adult tooth underneath. Those pulpotomy and pulpectomy cases go to our endodontist, whose whole discipline is treating the inside of the tooth.

Difficult extractions

Most milk-tooth removals are simple, but a difficult or surgical extraction — a badly broken tooth, or one that won't come out on its own — belongs with a surgeon. Our oral and maxillofacial surgeon handles those cases in the same building.

Early braces & jaw growth

Our founder is an orthodontist and TMJ specialist who teaches at RVS Dental College. Crowding, gaps and jaw-growth problems spotted as a child's adult teeth come in are his field — and catching them early often means simpler treatment later.

Kids' & teen orthodontics

Working alongside our founder, Dr. Sneha plans and monitors early orthodontics and braces for children and teenagers — habit appliances, growth guidance and alignment — so treatment fits the stage your child's teeth are actually at.

Where To Start

When does your child need to see a dentist?

Some of these will sound like your child. Each one has a clear next step at Arasu.

Their first visit

We recommend a first checkup by around the first birthday, or when the first tooth appears — an easy, no-treatment visit that gets your child used to us. Book a child dental checkup.

A cavity, toothache or dark spot on a tooth

Early decay is treated with a simple tooth-coloured filling; deeper decay in a baby tooth may need a pulpotomy or pulpectomy to save the tooth.

A knocked-out, chipped or broken tooth

This is an emergency — call your nearest branch straight away; quick action gives the tooth the strongest chance. We're open until 8:30 PM every day.

Crowding, gaps or a bite that looks off

As adult teeth come in, an early orthodontic evaluation tells you whether to act now or wait. See braces for children.

A baby tooth lost too early

Baby teeth hold space for adult teeth. Lose one early and the gap can close — premature primary-tooth loss is linked to roughly a five-fold higher need for orthodontic treatment later. A space maintainer keeps the gap open.

Not sure which of these fits? Start with a checkup — the examination decides the rest, and we route your child to the right clinician from there. For the full picture of children's care by age, see our pediatric dentistry page.

A Calm First Impression

How we keep dental visits calm for children

The biggest worry most parents bring isn't the treatment — it's whether their child will sit through it. We plan children's appointments around comfort, not speed.

Explained at their level

We explain each step in words a child understands, use tell-show-do and gentle distraction, and give plenty of praise along the way — so nothing comes as a surprise.

Never rushed or held down

A frightened child is never forced through treatment. Appointments are kept short and unhurried, and an anxious child sets some of the pace.

Sedation when it helps

For longer procedures, or a child whose anxiety makes ordinary treatment hard, sedation options are available so care is completed calmly and safely.

We'll always talk you through what's suitable for your child before anything begins, and treatment is carried out comfortably under the appropriate anaesthesia. Our aim is simple: a child who leaves willing to come back.

A Parent's Checklist

How to choose a children's dentist in Coimbatore

Worth asking of any clinic, including ours. Coimbatore has plenty of options for children's dentistry; these four questions separate a good fit from a rushed one.

1

Who will actually treat my child, and what's their qualification?

You should be able to see the clinician's name and training before you book — not just the clinic's.

2

If my child needs a specialist, is one in-house?

Baby root canals, surgical extractions and early braces need different skills. A clinic with those specialists on-site means your child isn't bounced between practices mid-treatment.

3

Is the approach genuinely child-first?

Ask how they handle a scared child, and whether the setup — from waiting area to chair — is built for kids.

4

Do the hours fit school and work?

Evening and weekend availability decides whether checkups actually happen. We're open every day, 10 AM to 8:30 PM.

What children's dental treatment costs at Arasu

What your child's visit costs depends entirely on what they need — a routine checkup and clean is a world away from a baby root canal or early orthodontics. A consultation, where we examine your child and explain exactly what's required, is ₹300–₹500. You get the full, itemised cost after that visit, with no surprise add-ons.

RRamya P.

My 4-year-old was terrified of dentists. Our dentist was so patient — showed him everything first, no rushing. He actually asked when we're going back.

VVignesh K.

Took my daughter for sealants after her molars came in. Explained why they help and the whole thing was quick. Priced it upfront, no surprises.

LLakshmi S.

They caught early decay in my son's milk tooth and saved it with a small treatment instead of pulling it. Honest about what did and didn't need doing.

AArun M.

Brought my son in for a thumb-sucking habit at 5. The orthodontist fitted a simple appliance and guided us the whole way. Much better now.

Yes. We work at your child's pace, explain each step simply, and use appropriate anaesthesia so procedures are comfortable. For anxious children or longer treatment, sedation options are available.

We treat nervous children often. Gentle communication, distraction and positive reinforcement settle most children; where anxiety runs high, we can discuss sedation. We never force a frightened child through treatment.

Often, yes. Baby teeth hold space for adult teeth and let your child eat and speak comfortably. Untreated decay can cause pain, infection and early tooth loss — which can crowd the adult teeth. We'll advise honestly whether a tooth needs treating or watching.

Both RS Puram and Saibaba Colony offer children's dentistry — choose whichever is closer. Call ahead and we'll make sure the right clinician is available for what your child needs.
