Planned by MDS orthodontists · Two clinics in Coimbatore
At Arasu Dental Care, orthodontic treatment straightens crowded, gapped or protruding teeth and corrects how your upper and lower teeth meet — so your teeth are easier to clean, more comfortable to chew with, and a smile you're happy to show. It's the right step if your teeth are misaligned or your bite feels off, and it works at almost any age: we treat children, teenagers and adults across our R.S. Puram and Saibaba Colony clinics, with every case planned and carried out by our MDS orthodontists.
Who It's For
Orthodontic treatment is worth considering if you have crowded or overlapping teeth, noticeable gaps, teeth that stick out, or a bite that doesn't line up — an overbite, underbite or crossbite. Beyond appearance, misaligned teeth are harder to clean and can wear unevenly over the years, so correcting them protects long-term oral health, not just your smile.
These problems are common: in studies of Indian adolescents, around a third are assessed as needing orthodontic treatment. And you're rarely too old to fix them — a first orthodontic check is usually recommended around age 7, the teenage years are a common time to treat, and a growing share of our patients are adults. Teeth can be moved at almost any age if your gums and supporting bone are healthy. At your consultation we'll tell you honestly whether treatment will help your case and what it can realistically achieve.
Treatment Options
We offer the full range of orthodontic appliances and match the option to your case and your daily life — there's no single right choice for everyone.

The most versatile option, suited to almost any case.

Tooth-coloured brackets that are less noticeable.

A bracket design that can mean fewer adjustment visits.

Removable, near-invisible trays for suitable cases.
Not sure which suits you? Your orthodontist will recommend the right fit at your consultation.
Consultation & Planning
Good orthodontics starts with an accurate diagnosis, not a bracket. At your first visit we examine your teeth, jaws and bite and take the records we need — digital scans or impressions, photographs and X-rays — to see exactly how your teeth are positioned and how they meet.
From that, your orthodontist builds your treatment plan: which appliance suits your case, the order your teeth will move in, an estimated timeline, and what the result will look like. We walk you through it, with an itemised estimate, before anything is fitted — so you begin treatment knowing both the plan and the cost.
During Treatment
Once your plan is agreed, here's how treatment usually runs.
Your braces or aligners are fitted and we show you how to care for them.
Short visits every few weeks guide your teeth into position; with aligners you change trays on a set schedule.
Most cases take around 12 to 24 months — simple cases can be quicker, complex ones longer. We give you a realistic estimate.
Once your teeth are aligned, retainers hold them there (next section).
Retainers
Finishing your braces or aligners isn't quite the end. Teeth have a natural tendency to drift back toward their old positions, so retainers are what make your result last. We fit your retainer once treatment is complete and explain exactly how, and how long, to wear it.
There are two main types — fixed retainers (a thin wire bonded behind the front teeth) and removable retainers (clear or wire retainers worn on a schedule). Which suits you depends on your case, and we'll recommend the right option.
Honest Comparison
Both straighten teeth well — the right choice comes down to your case and your habits, and we'll be straight with you about it. There's no single winner.

Why Arasu
Orthodontics is a specialty in its own right, and at Arasu your treatment is planned and carried out by MDS-qualified orthodontists — not handed to a general dentist. We plan cases with digital records and scanning, offer the full range of braces and aligners under one roof, and see you across two Coimbatore clinics, all seven days, so reviews and adjustments fit your routine.

Cost
Cost depends on the appliance you choose (metal, ceramic, self-ligating braces or clear aligners), how complex your case is, and how long treatment takes — so a simple alignment and a full bite correction aren't comparable. Rather than quote a figure that may not fit your case, we give you an itemised estimate at your consultation, and we offer payment options.
Metal, ceramic or self-ligating braces, or clear aligners — each is priced differently.
A simple alignment and a full bite correction sit at different ends of the range.
Longer cases mean more visits, which affects the overall cost.

FAQs
A first orthodontic check is usually recommended around age 7, so any developing problems can be spotted early. The teenage years are a common time to treat, and adults are very welcome too — teeth can be moved at almost any age if the gums and bone are healthy.
Most cases take around 12 to 24 months. Simple alignment can be quicker, and complex bite corrections take longer. You'll get a realistic estimate for your own case at the planning stage.
You may feel mild pressure or tenderness for a day or two after your braces are fitted or adjusted, which settles quickly — it's a sign your teeth are moving. Day to day, modern braces and aligners are comfortable to wear.
It depends on your case and your habits. Braces suit the widest range of cases; clear aligners are removable and discreet but need to be worn 20–22 hours a day and suit milder cases. Your orthodontist will recommend the right fit at your consultation.
Cost depends on the appliance, the complexity of your case and the treatment length, so we give you an itemised estimate at your consultation. See our cost guide for typical ranges. Fees are confirmed at consultation and vary by individual case.
Yes. Once your teeth are aligned, a retainer keeps them in place, because teeth tend to drift back without one. We'll fit your retainer and explain how and how long to wear it.
With braces, short adjustment visits are usually every few weeks. With clear aligners, you change trays on a set schedule and come in less often for reviews.
Yes — a growing number of our patients are adults. As long as your gums and supporting bone are healthy, teeth can be straightened at any age, with discreet options like ceramic braces and clear aligners available.
Yes. We assess children early and guide jaw and tooth development when treating sooner is the better option. See our children's dentistry page for more.
